Location: Mobile Children's Museum, various locations throughout Clark County.
Overview: As a Volunteer Play Facilitator at Columbia Play Project’s Mobile Children's Museum, you will have the exciting opportunity to engage with children and caregivers in playful learning experiences. This role involves setting up, engaging with kids and caregivers, tidying throughout the event, and taking down various exhibits and activities, as well as interacting with visitors and discussing CPP programs. If you have a passion for working with children, a friendly demeanor, and a willingness to contribute your time to creating enriching experiences, we invite you to join our team!
Responsibilities:
Engage with children and caregivers in play-based learning activities.
Assist with the setup and takedown of exhibits, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the event, including sanitizing surfaces and tidying up activity areas.
Communicate with visitors about the museum's programs, events, and educational initiatives.
Offer guidance and support to children as they explore various exhibits and activities.
Collaborate with museum staff to ensure the smooth operation of events and activities.
Attend volunteer orientation sessions and training workshops as required.
Qualifications:
Genuine interest in engaging with children and caregivers in play-based learning experiences.
Friendly and approachable demeanor, with excellent communication skills.
Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Willingness to contribute to the setup, cleanup, and takedown of exhibits and activities.
Comfortable talking with people of diverse backgrounds and ages.
Prior experience working with children or in a museum setting is a plus but not required.
Time Commitment:
Volunteers sign up for dates and times that work within their personal schedule and are asked to commit to a minimum of 2-6 hours per event, depending on availability and scheduling. Events typically occur on weekends weekday evenings and occasional weekdays.

Volunteer Position Description:
Community Play Promoters support Columbia Play Project’s (CPP) marketing and community engagement teams. Your volunteer support will help us amplify our message and build enthusiasm and support for the vision of CPP. Impact Innovators may seek out, organize, and lead tabling event opportunities or simply arrive at a planned tabling event and educate and engage the community in the future of CPP. Activities could include but are not limited to:
Represent Columbia Play Project in a professional, positive, and playful manner.
Stay up to date on upcoming events and keystone achievements.
Maintain records regarding community contacts and impact.
Job Relationships:
Work closely with all other CPP staff and volunteers to ensure quality communication when volunteering at CPP.
Maintain excellent relationships with personnel at partner organizations.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong oral communication and organization skills.
Ability to encourage and engage in collaborative and respectful dialogue with a variety of people.
Must be able to work unsupervised and independently.
Must have computer skills involving, but not limited to, Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
Fluency in other languages aside from English is encouraged.
Experience with or interest in working with 0-12-year-old children.
Experience in community engagement and outreach.
Able to volunteer four or more times per year.
Community Play Promoter lead volunteer role: The person in this role will have strong organization skills and act as a leader and plan tabling event logistics with community partners. In addition to the experience and abilities listed above a Lead Community Play Promoter will:
Create and maintain spreadsheets for upcoming events and contacts.
Maintain materials used for outreach and tabling events.
Assist in the recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for outreach and special events.
Reach out to community partners to schedule and plan tabling and outreach events.
